I love reading tips from my favourite Oxygen magazine Fitness Models. Reading information like this is reassuring that:
1.) fitness models are real people
2.) fitness models have cravings and weaknesses
3.) fitness models need strategies to stay on track too
Maggie D said “deprivation leads to over doing it” and I agree 100%. This is again why my coach’s FitnessPrint program rocks! I get to eat so much food and I am never hungry until it’s time for my next meal. My body always feels satisfied and fuelled.
I know that deprivation can lead to a vicious cycle of binging. Does this sound familiar? It’s better to eat 5-7 small meals a day, drink loads of water, herbal or green tea, and to include all food groups, including carbs and healthy fats (which I stayed away from for years because I thought they both made me ‘fat’ - wrong!) than to deprive your body of what it needs.

28 days to sexy abs! By Oxygen Magazine

I need this issue. MAGGIE DUIBALDO stole my heart years and years ago when I first saw her in the pages and on the cover of Oxygen magazine. She was and still is my first ABSpiration! When I needed motivation to stay on track, keep going, or simply get going to the gym, it was Maggie’s photos that got me there. Check out her blog here.
I will never forget this, in one of her Oxygen magazine cover girl interviews they asked her what tip(s) she could give people to help them with working out or getting started. She was honest and admitted that it wasn’t always easy getting to the gym but she made a promise to herself that even if she didn’t ‘feel’ like it, she would at least workout for 10 minutes. When 10 minutes was up if she still didn’t feel like being there she would give herself permission leave. But she said once she got there, got passed that first 10 minutes she would rarely want to leave.
This is a technique that I used then and I still do sometimes. Give it a try, it might work for you!
I would love to meet Maggie D one day… LOVE.THIS.WOMAN! Inspiration at it’s finest!
