It’s always exciting receiving your proofs back from a photo shoot. I’m always anxious to see how the photos turned out especially when you put so much work into making your body ‘photo shoot’ ready, you put creative energy into outfits you create and looks you want to portray, you spend time in the salon on a fresh cut, style, colour, get a clean-looking mani/pedi, and have your make-up and hair professionally done.
Although several hundreds of photos can be captured in 1 hour, not every photo will be suitable for a magazine submission. It’s not your fault or the fault of the photographers, it’s just simply how it goes. The camera is clicking away and you are hitting different moves, angels, and expressions. With every photo shoot I have I’m learning more and more on how to move my arms, legs, hips, hair, etc. Over time you can see what angels look best and what expressions work well. So after careful viewing, comparing, and getting the opinions of other professionals in the industry it becomes easier to select the top images and believe it or not, out of over 300 photos there might only be 5-10 that are submission worthy. This doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good shot, it might just mean that one of your arms is not visible or your fingers are hiding or in an awkward position. It could be a number of things and this is something I have learned through experience and through mentoring.
I have to say that shooting with Pink Elephant was everything I thought it would be. Casey and Jojo are fantastic to work with and I look forward to shooting with them again in the future. My individual shots and our group shots turned out well and I’m excited to share them with you - one is coming your way soon!!

Since WBFF BC, it has been non-stop but in the best way ever. I was fortunate to have a photo shoot with Pink Elephant Photography (who are amazing to shoot with by the way) and these beautiful woman from my team, Marilyse, Fatima, Brandi, and Leslie.
It was a day full of group and individual shots, plenty of outfit and scenery changes, and lots of laughing. I was able to see some of the shots Pink E captured and I am so impressed. I will receive my photos in a few weeks and if the opportunity arises that allows me to share some of these photos with you I will. If not, I know you will see some in the future (more on this later).
Slowly but surely I am getting caught up and will be back blogging full time. I miss you and appreciate your support! My recap of the WBFF is coming and will most likely be in one week from today. There is something special that is being prepared for you and it should be ready in one week. My recap of the show wouldn’t be complete without it and you will see why! Stay tuned… xo

You might remember my post about my up coming shoot with Vasko. Well… how amazing is he?! Today, he took the time to write a post on his blog in response to my blog post about shooting with him!!! I’m completely flattered and honored that he would do such a thing *heart melts*
There’s no question that his work is pure quality but more than that he’s an awesome person…not just now… this was obvious from the very beginning, hence my attraction to his work.
Here is the post he wrote about me, check it out!

As you all know, I have a vision board. I have many goals written, some already accomplished and some not, some you know about and some you will soon find out about. One of the goals I wrote for myself in 2011 was having a photo shoot with VASKO photography. I absolutely adore his work and in my opinion he’s one of the most creative photographers out there. I am very particular with the style of photography I prefer and I plan on sticking to this standard. As someone beginning in this industry, I don’t feel that I need to shoot with just anyone. In fact, I have passed on a few sessions because it wasn’t what I was looking for. It doesn’t mean there was anything wrong with this photographer’s work, it just means it wasn’t my style. There is nothing wrong with being selective with who you decide to shoot with no matter if you’re just beginning or are a PRO.

I’m excited to share with you that this year I will be shooting with one of my TOP FAVOURITE photographers, VASKO!!! Set your goals and chase them down until they are yours! More to come on this later!

Thank you for always being so supportive of everything I have dreamed of doing! xo
