FATE: On Sunday, I was on-set with Te Fit (aka TOMMY EUROPE) filming his SHRED fit video. Back in 2004 when I was at my highest weight 165lbs, I would sit in bed on a Friday night, eating junk food, and I would watch both of Tommy Europe’s shows: The Last 10lbs and Bulging Brides. I even went as far as applying to be a participant on the show! And now here I am 8 years later filming with Tommy for his SHRED fit video. Life works in mysterious ways and Sunday is just one more reason why I believe in destiny. Thank you for this opportunity and for a killer shred workout Tommy. I am still sore!
This was my first time filming in the fitness industry and I have learned so much from this experience. Tommy is very professional, knowledgeable, energetic, organized, fashionable (everything matched from his kicks to his watch) and full of great insight. He definitely gave me a few things to think about for the future. What I love about Tommy Europe is that he’s the real deal. What you see is what you get. He trains hard but he pays hard as well. Aside from coconut water and protein bars on set, he also has gummy bears! Yes that’s right, Tommy has a sweet tooth. For me, this makes him even more real and I always appreciate people who are straight up. This just shows that you can train hard, eat clean, and have a few treats here or there and still maintain your goals. If you ever get a chance to attend one of Tommy’s SHRED workouts, I highly recommend it! I attended one of his bootcamps in Vancouver a few years back and it was killer. On Saturday, November 3rd, he will be in Toronto for another SHRED Bootcamp. You can even join his VIP SHRED Community www.tommyeuropevip.com (anyone who goes to sign up on the site will receive a 14-day free trial. 4 Weeks to a New You www.4weekstoanewyou.com
I’m grateful for this experience and looking forward to working with Tommy again in the near future!
Believe.

“IF YOU’RE GOING THROUGH HELL, KEEP GOING.”
Let’s be honest here, life is not always easy and there are times when it feels impossible to get through your day. I have felt this way numerous times and even recently it has been hard to balance everything, but I’m not about to give up. When the plan you have isn’t working, you need to make a new plan. Today my new plan begins.
“There’s always going to be bad stuff out there. But here’s the amazing thing - light trumps darkness every time. You stick a candle into the dark, but you can’t stick the dark into the light.” ~Jodi Picoult
The mind is so powerful that it can even work against us but if we have control over our mind then the sky is the limit. The key to this solution is deciding to be charge, following through, and fighting until we are the captain of our journey. I am firm believer that ‘everything happens for a reason’ and with each experience comes a lesson to be learned. Don’t worry if you are not sure why things are the way they are, instead focus on making them the way you want and soon enough you will understand the reason behind your experience. Give gratitude for what you have in your life and remember that when you stop learning, you stop living.
“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” ~ Earl Nightingale
It’s much easier said than done and this is where the challenge lies. But the longer you wait, the longer it will take to reach your goals. Like I have said before, if you do your work, have faith, and let the universe know your wishes, your wishes will be granted when the time is right. If you let your guard down and stop putting in the effort then that other person named ‘Doubt’ will try to take you down. Why? Because they are jealous of how amazing you will become without them. Don’t let Doubt win or keep you away from being the person you deserve to be.
“If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.” ~ Tom Hanks
Start today with the ‘hard’. Make a plan and set goals with specific timelines. Come face to face with what’s ‘hard’, figure out why, ditch the excuses, and don’t stop working toward your goal, not even when you get there. Each time you want to quit, fight harder!
“Complete at least one real action today that will take you closer to achieving your goal.” ~ Robert Kennedy
Don’t wait until tomorrow, decide to start now. Let’s do this!

“It is amazing how much you can accomplish when it doesn’t matter who gets the credit.”~ Unknown
It was 8 years ago since I hit rock bottom. It was 17 months ago that I started to train as a Blessed Bodies’ competitor. It was roughly one year ago since I stepped on stage for the first time and won my first competition. It has been 10 months since I starting working as a coach side by side with my coach, inspiration, and friend, Fatima Leite Kusch. It has been 4 months since I became a WBFF Pro Fitness Model. And it’s been 2 months since I officially became an Oxygen fitness model. My life has changed drastically since April 2011. Dreams, goals, and wishes I have had for myself are all coming together and I am grateful but still I have days when I question my future path and wonder if I have my goals set too high.
I was reminded by a good friend recently that on those days that fear or doubt sneak up on me, that it’s a good idea to sit back and reflect on my accomplishments as opposed to focusing on my future ambitions. Today I reflected on all that I have done and I am proud. I have set my goals high but I won’t cut myself short. The goals that I have achieved already once seemed impossible to me but I have proven that I can make my goals come to life. I promise to continue to work towards all the goals on my vision board and I believe that all my dreams will come true. When the universe feels that I am ready to receive these gifts then I will.
Never stop believing. You and I deserve to have our dreams come true!

2012 SUMMER RECAP:
3. WBFF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION ~ Meeting Miryah
For those of you who have been following my journey since the very beginning, you will know that Miryah Jade Scott (3x WBFF World Champion Fitness Model) has always been one of my top inspirations. She proved by example that it can all be done and there are no excuses. This is the video that kept me going on days that I didn’t think I could push any further. I run a very similar life to Miryah with training 1-2 times a day, working a full time job, prepping meals every night, and pursuing my second career at night - fitness. It can feel like a circus act at times but I can’t stop myself from doing it. It’s my passion and I can’t and won’t let myself stop chasing my dreams and Miryah gives me hope to continue on.
So you can just imagine what an honour it was to finally meet my inspiration in person. My heart melted. I absolutely adore and respect Miryah so much. She represents true strength, beauty, determination, and she keeps it real!

MY CLEAN EATS: Tuesday, September 18th, 2012
pancakes (with one overripe banana), CleanNutCup
pancakes
pancakes, baby carrots
extra lean ground turkey, green beans
extra lean ground turkey, green beans, brown rice, grape tomatoes
bell peppers
Ezekiel cereal, peanut butter
salmon, mixed greens salad with fig vinegar
WOD: 45 minutes of stepmill. My entire body is sore, especially my glutes! Honestly, it’s difficult to walk on ground level, let alone the stairs. It hurts to sit and worse to get up. It has been a while since I have had this burn but I like it! Pain is temporary and I know I did a good job lifting on Monday.

TODAY’S CLEAN MEALS: Sunday, September 16th, 2012
pancakes, bell pepper (odd combo yes but I was feeling like something fresh)
pancakes,carrots
pancakes, cucumbers
buffalo, mushrooms, green beans, whole wheat macaroni, salad with fig vinegar
Ezekiel original cereal, peanut butter
CleanNutCup
Extra lean ground turkey
WOD: Back to back 90 minute Ultimate Frisbee games (180 minutes with subs). Today was a gorgeous day to be outside and I am happy it wasn’t spent in the gym. I am really taking a liking to this new sport…it’s fun, intense, a great cardio workout, and it gives my fiancée and I more opportunity to spend together. I think this might be my new favourite sport aside from fitness. Trying new activities keeps things fresh and during my off season is the best time to do it. No excuses!

Here is a snap shot of a very memorable day with Paul Buceta and my team. More details coming soon!
fitnessprint:

Every photo shoot and photographer brings something fresh and a new experience. This is exactly what the talented Paul Buceta brought to this shoot. He highlighted our models’ beauty, created emotion, and raised the bar for what is expected in a photo shoot. Not only were amazing photos captured but it was a day full of laughter and lasting memories. Team Blessed Bodies is looking forward to working with Paul and Valeria again, what a team!

354 DAYS:
After winning my Pro Card with the WBFF on June 23rd I am now eligible to compete with the other pro’s across the world once a year. This past August I had to miss competing at the WBFF World Championship because of a family wedding but it’s on for 2013! Today is day 1 of 354 days as I maintain a solid off season while making gains and working toward bringing my best body for the WBFF World Championships in 2013. If you have been following my blog since my first competition in 2011 and/or my second competition in 2012, you will know that my my journey to the stage has been filled with challenges and triumphs. Last season especially brought several challenges and lessons to be learned and I even trained while working full time (unlike my first show, I had 2 months prior to my show to just focus on training). This year, not only will I  be working full time, training full time, but also planning a wedding, and getting married one month prior to Worlds! Talk about challenges. If I can get through this and look back on my achievements and be proud, then this is success.
I am looking forward to filling you in on the adventures that have taken place over the last two weeks and also catching up on reading your blogs! I have missed you and I am happy to be back in action with you once again.
For some of you today is the first day of school and for me Fall always brings a sense of something new and special. Let’s work together to achieve our goals and bring our best self every day! 2013 is right around the corner and I want you and myself to feel happy with health and fitness BEFORE the new year, not after.
Who’s with me?
