#IPROMISE check in time for Monday, October 29th-Sunday, November 4th
#ipromise to complete all my weight training: YES
#ipromise to complete all my cardio minutes: NO : ( On Friday I felt exhausted so I took the day off. On Saturday, I slept in which is unusual for me and after being up for many an hour I slept for another 5. This is very odd and a major sign to me that my body was either trying to fight illness or I am run down. As much as I knew I should have gone to the gym, I let it go because my body was saying something completely different.
#ipromise to eat clean: YES! But I can’t lie, both cake and chocolate have been on my mind all week.
#ipromise to eat only with my competition meal plan: Yes-ish. I did have some extra peanut butter with an extra cracker. Nothing crazy but this is a check-in so I need to be honest.
#ipromise to have one guilt-free meal (it will be dessert on the weekend): NO, I changed my mind near the weekend and did not have a planned cheat.
#ipromise to not drink any alcohol: YES, no alcohol for 3 weeks now? I’ve lost track. I’m looking forward to enjoying a nice glass of Malbec over the holidays.
#ipromise to practice patience: YES, but you can never have enough in my opinion.
#ipromise to be extremely productive: YES. I did the best I could but it wasn’t enough according to my standards.
#ipromise to make time to connect with at least 1 family member or friend: Yes, I had a cooking date with a friend and I played Ultimate Frisbee.
#ipromise to be in bed by 10:00pm M-Th: YES
#ipromise to make more time to read my current book before bed: YES but I want to make even more time.
Overall, it wasn’t my best performance but I felt that under the circumstances that I did the best I could last week. I want to continue to focus on the same goals for this week.

If the new year is something that inspires you to change then go with it. What works for one person may not work for the next. But the bottom line is that if you want something different then you have to do something different!

Don’t let another year go by without you taking action toward making your dreams come true!

Over the holidays I spoke with a guy friend of mine who was talking to me about how he wants to “get in shape”, “become healthier”, “eat better”, “lose weight”, “have more energy”, and “no longer weigh 250lbs”. It’s fantastic when people can identify what they want and where they are currently going wrong or what’s preventing them from achieving their goals. However, this is all talk unless something is done about it. The unfortunate part of this story is that him and I had this EXACT same conversation last year. The fortunate part of this story is that it’s never too late to change.

Set your goals (large or small) and write them down and the date you would like to accomplish them by. Remember, you “are powerful beyond measure” and you can do anything… Trust me on this one!
