2. PHOTO SHOOT WITH VASKO

Eight of my team mates and I had a full day photo shoot with Vasko Photography. The room was exploding with laughing women, dresses, sports bras, booty shorts, bikinis, jewellery, high heels, water bottles, protein, peanut butter, oatmeal, etc. It was a busy day that’s for sure. While two women were getting their hair and make-up done, another one was shooting, and the rest were either changing, eating, chatting, or online. When you have this many women at a photo shoot, it’s key for models to show up prepared. Our coach has taught us well and in advance we know what outfits we plan on wearing with what shoes and jewellery, etc. It’s in our best interest to be efficient so we can get more shots in with the photographer. I focused my shoot on more fashion/glamour style photos since this Vasko’s speciality in my opinion. I’ve just sent in my top picks for edits and I am excited to see the final product!

Every photo shoot and photographer brings something fresh and a new experience. This is exactly what the talented Paul Buceta brought to this shoot. He highlighted our models’ beauty, created emotion, and raised the bar for what is expected in a photo shoot. Not only were amazing photos captured but it was a day full of laughter and lasting memories. Team Blessed Bodies is looking forward to working with Paul and Valeria again, what a team!

Pink Elephant Photography & Design was so kind to post and share this photo from my recent shoot with them. I really like it because it’s something different than my usual fitness shoots, it’s more of a fun lifestyle shot and the sunset lighting adds a nice touch that isn’t captured in the studio.

On Monday, August 20th, I will doing my first official shoot with OXYGEN MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You all know how much Oxygen magazine has changed my life and what an important role it plays in my life everyday so to be shooting with the best health and fitness magazine is beyond my wildest dreams! Of course this goal is listed on my vision board but for it to actually happen is incredible! I’m feeling very blessed and grateful.

When it rains it pours, there are a few more exciting pieces to share coming very soon!

I love a fresh mani/pedi.

It’s always exciting receiving your proofs back from a photo shoot. I’m always anxious to see how the photos turned out especially when you put so much work into making your body ‘photo shoot’ ready, you put creative energy into outfits you create and looks you want to portray, you spend time in the salon on a fresh cut, style, colour, get a clean-looking mani/pedi, and have your make-up and hair professionally done.

Although several hundreds of photos can be captured in 1 hour, not every photo will be suitable for a magazine submission. It’s not your fault or the fault of the photographers, it’s just simply how it goes. The camera is clicking away and you are hitting different moves, angels, and expressions. With every photo shoot I have I’m learning more and more on how to move my arms, legs, hips, hair, etc. Over time you can see what angels look best and what expressions work well. So after careful viewing, comparing, and getting the opinions of other professionals in the industry it becomes easier to select the top images and believe it or not, out of over 300 photos there might only be 5-10 that are submission worthy. This doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good shot, it might just mean that one of your arms is not visible or your fingers are hiding or in an awkward position. It could be a number of things and this is something I have learned through experience and through mentoring.

I have to say that shooting with Pink Elephant was everything I thought it would be. Casey and Jojo are fantastic to work with and I look forward to shooting with them again in the future. My individual shots and our group shots turned out well and I’m excited to share them with you - one is coming your way soon!!
