MY INTERVIEW with MIRIAM KHALLADI!

This is my very FIRST VIDEO INTERVIEW! It was such a pleasure to be interviewed by her on REAL TALK. REAL WOMEN. She has interviewed some of my fitness inspirations like Tosca Reno, Fatima Leite Kusch, Tiffani Bachus, Diana Chaloux, Adela Garcia and many more!

[GEEK ALERT: There’s something really funny about watching yourself and hearing yourself in a video *blush*]

I also posted the video on my Athlete Page here. I would LOVE to hear your feedback <3

Tired of boring chicken? Then you need to try Peanut Butter Addictive Chicken!
2 TBSP Natural Peanut Butter1/2 cup Bragg Soy Seasoning 1/2 cup Lemon or Lime Juice2 TBSP Curry Powder2 Cloves Garlic Chopped1 tsp Hot Pepper Sauce6 Skinless Chicken Breasts, cubes or stripsMix all ingredients except for chicken. Marinade chicken breasts for minimum 2 hours. Barbeque or grill.

This is the clean chicken recipe from my coach that has saved my relationship with chicken. There’s a reason it’s called ‘Addictive’. Both my fiancé and I can not get enough of it. I hope you take the time to try it. Your taste buds will be forever changed #ipromise!

SUMMER RECAP:
5. THE HAMPTONS - It’s Exactly How You Would Imagine
What Went Down?
spent 3 amazing days with some of the most inspiring and genuine women from my team
learned so much about my teammates and myself
enjoyed the view of the ocean everyday and even saw dolphins swim by
savoured both clean and unclean treats (sea salt caramel tart - amazing!)
sipped on red wine, champagne, tea, coffee, and water of course!
slept like a queen
gave gratitude every day for my experience
dined out and in
tried a dosa for the first time
saw Julian Moore (she was also ordering a dosa for take- out!)
went to Barry’s Bootcamp and got worked by Alycia and Natalie!
Alycia Stevenin punished us in the treadmill strength training class (best 60 minute workout)
Natalie Raitano(remember the show VIP?) gave us a gruelling 60 minute workout (sweat everywhere kinda of workout)
Attended my first BARRE class at EXHALE. Great experience but I prefer fast and intense workouts.
experienced shopping in East Hamptons
Went to Dylan’s Candy Bar
dressed up with the ladies and celebrated our successful season with dinner, drinks, and dancing. We got spoiled at Georgica - a night to remember!
Everyday I woke up I was in disbelief of my view and the experiences each day brought. There are some experiences you can dream up but this was one that surpassed my dreams. I am grateful for this experience and the strong women on my team. A special thank you to Leslie and her dad for generously sharing this gift with us. I will never forget my trip to the Hamptons.
Cheers to the beginning of Season 3!

“It is amazing how much you can accomplish when it doesn’t matter who gets the credit.”~ Unknown
It was 8 years ago since I hit rock bottom. It was 17 months ago that I started to train as a Blessed Bodies’ competitor. It was roughly one year ago since I stepped on stage for the first time and won my first competition. It has been 10 months since I starting working as a coach side by side with my coach, inspiration, and friend, Fatima Leite Kusch. It has been 4 months since I became a WBFF Pro Fitness Model. And it’s been 2 months since I officially became an Oxygen fitness model. My life has changed drastically since April 2011. Dreams, goals, and wishes I have had for myself are all coming together and I am grateful but still I have days when I question my future path and wonder if I have my goals set too high.
I was reminded by a good friend recently that on those days that fear or doubt sneak up on me, that it’s a good idea to sit back and reflect on my accomplishments as opposed to focusing on my future ambitions. Today I reflected on all that I have done and I am proud. I have set my goals high but I won’t cut myself short. The goals that I have achieved already once seemed impossible to me but I have proven that I can make my goals come to life. I promise to continue to work towards all the goals on my vision board and I believe that all my dreams will come true. When the universe feels that I am ready to receive these gifts then I will.
Never stop believing. You and I deserve to have our dreams come true!

2012 SUMMER RECAP:
2. PHOTO SHOOT WITH VASKO
Eight of my team mates and I had a full day photo shoot with Vasko Photography. The room was exploding with laughing women, dresses, sports bras, booty shorts, bikinis, jewellery, high heels, water bottles, protein, peanut butter, oatmeal, etc. It was a busy day that’s for sure. While two women were getting their hair and make-up done, another one was shooting, and the rest were either changing, eating, chatting, or online. When you have this many women at a photo shoot, it’s key for models to show up prepared. Our coach has taught us well and in advance we know what outfits we plan on wearing with what shoes and jewellery, etc. It’s in our best interest to be efficient so we can get more shots in with the photographer. I focused my shoot on more fashion/glamour style photos since this Vasko’s speciality in my opinion. I’ve just sent in my top picks for edits and I am excited to see the final product!

Lauri! What a sweet post!! I didn’t realize how much I impacted your journey. Thank you for the kind words! I am honored to be on the same vision board as Fatima and Jamie - wow! You have been working so hard and you look amazing!!! I am so proud of you and can’t wait to see you on that stage!
Inspire and be inspired! xo
beautifulhappylo:

I have photos on the cabinets that have sweets, cereal, junk food and basically everything I can’t eat with my competition prep. It’s not fair that I ask my entire family to quit eating or buying those foods just because I can’t have them right now, so in order to keep me outta there I have put up pictures. Now anytime I want to eat something in there I’ll remember what I’m working towards!
Who’s/What’s on the cabinet?
Badass gymnast Shawn Johnson
Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet formula
Jamie Eason - one of my biggest inspirations!
WBFF Pro Theresa Lopetrone! My absolute biggest inspiration and the person who convinced me to compete :)
My amazing coach!
ME! To remind myself how strong I have become and will continue to get :)

Over the weekend it was Fatima’s birthday and these are the women of Team Blessed Bodies who came together to celebrate our coach’s birthday.
It was great to see some of the ladies who I haven’t seen since WBFF BC and catch up on life since the show. It was also a nice break to enjoy wine and some birthday cake with everyone as this was one of our first weekends back to the grind since our team trip to the Hamptons and NYC. Most of us are back to the real grind today and continuing to eat clean every day/every week (minus one guilt-free meal), train, and practice balance as a competitor but also as a person socially. Like I have said before it’s a fine balance between the two and in my opinion, the Fall is the perfect time to have a few more social events and outings with friends that may involve food, drinks, or later hours out. But once winter hits, this flexibility and opportunity to practice balance slowly diminishes as show time becomes closer. Next year I will be competing at my third show ever and by far the biggest. I need and will bring a better package then I have in the past and I know it will be a day to remember no matter how I place. One thing I do know for sure is that I will rock my theme wear! I have a few ideas brewing and soon I will lock something in. I promise not to disappoint!

Here is a snap shot of a very memorable day with Paul Buceta and my team. More details coming soon!
fitnessprint:

Every photo shoot and photographer brings something fresh and a new experience. This is exactly what the talented Paul Buceta brought to this shoot. He highlighted our models’ beauty, created emotion, and raised the bar for what is expected in a photo shoot. Not only were amazing photos captured but it was a day full of laughter and lasting memories. Team Blessed Bodies is looking forward to working with Paul and Valeria again, what a team!

Yesterday I became an official Oxygen fitness model!
“When you attach passion to your dream, you get yourself closer to achieving it.” ~ Robert KennedyIt truly is amazing how dreams can come to life. I’ve been a dedicated Oxygen magazine reader since my early 20’s and this magazine has been by my side the whole time like a good friend. Oxygen has been with me through the highs and lows of my life and it always remained my rock. I’ve relied on it for motivation, inspiration, tips, recipes and workouts, I’ve read it front to back and back to front. I’ve travelled with it, worked out with it, tore out pages, laminated pages, and the list goes on. This experience has become full circle. To be honest, it still makes my heart race today just thinking about my experience yesterday with the Oxygen team. It was so much fun and so special to finally meet the people behind the magic: Paul Buceta (photopgraher), Valeria Nova (in photo) & Lori Fabrizio (hair & make-up artists - Two Chicks and Some Lipstick), and Nadia Pizzimenti (stylist). We prepared a workout spread that will be featured in the January 2013 issue which comes out in mid-December. This couldn’t be more perfect, not only is December the holidays but January is my birthday month! I think I just got spoiled for the holidays and won’t be needing any other gifts. I have some fun photos to share with you but I can’t until the issue is out because my clothes need to remain a surprise. Let’s just say I am very pleased with the clothing brand and colours that were selected. The colours really popped for the camera and I was very happy with the images. It’s easy to get great shots when you’re working with hard-working professionals. Just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, we did two extra sets of themed photos. You may be seeing these photos in the future and if/when you do you will know when they were taken. Keep your fingers crossed!
Last but not least, I met two WBFF Pro’s from South Africa at the RKP Studios!! How lucky is that?! Angelique and Jacques Van Der Linde!! They are both wonderful people! Angelique was also shooting a spread for Oxygen - I hope we’re in the same issue!
It feels like I won the lottery and maybe this is why »> “Choose a job that you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” ~ Confucius
