38 DAYS OUT WAS DELICIOUS!
Today’s meal:
Pancakes (egg whites, cottage cheese, MAGNUM vanilla isolate, chia seeds, oats +coconut oil)) + one of Leslie’s CleanNutButterCups
Two hard boiled whole eggs, melody grape tomatoes, cucumber
Brown rice and shrimp with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and Bragg, and baby carrots
Banana, Dara’s chocolate pudding (+ crunchy PB) and Ezekiel Original cereal
Pancakes
Turkey, onion, garlic, mushroom, and tomato sauce stir-fry + CleanNutButterCup
Food is my fuel. I enjoy every bite, feel satisfied, and never feel weighed down. Don’t ever deprive your body of food. All food is important but it always seems that people restrict two main types of food: carbs and healthy fats. You need these!
Diets and starvation don’t work and if you find temporary ‘success’ just know that this will all come to an end and when the end arrives you will have done damage to your system. Treat yourself with respect and love and give your body what it needs. Practice clean eating and you will see a difference in how you look and feel. Eat clean for health, not to lose weight. Focusing on eating clean for health benefits instead of weight-loss is what helped me stay focused on making this a lifestyle. If you’re not already eating clean and begin to, you will soon notice that losing weight and inches is a side effect, in addition to increased energy, happiness, and confidence.
Did you know before I started to eat clean that I thought taking a nap after dinner was normal? It’s not.
Get on board people, stop looking for a quick fix and start eating wholesome foods.
It’s time to start living!

WOW!! How amazing are you Lucy?! This completely has made my day! Firstly, thank you for reaching out to me. Secondly, thank you for having faith in me to trust my recommendations for Tosca Reno’s The Eat-Clean Diet. This way of living will change your life, and clearly it already has! In just two weeks you’ve lost 2.5lbs and inches, and there is no doubt in my mind that you feel better too! It’s a learning process and you’ve just opened up your life to a new chapter. Congratulations! Please keep me posted on all your future successes!
fitterisbetterhealth4life:

A few weeks ago, I was stressed about counting macros. It drove me up a wall and I wasn’t see a thing happening. Out of frustration and desperation, I decided to seek some help. I left an ask in TheFameOfHealthAndFitness’s tumblr, asking if she counted because she has had success and she’s definitely doing something right. While I don’t compare to her, I wondered if she counted because if she could, so can I.
Her reply wasn’t what I was expecting. She recommended Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet book. I waited a day before I snapped it up on Amazon (a day too much, I think). After I received the book, I dropped counting.
I quickly adapted some of the Clean Eating principles. I no longer eat white bread, rice, sugar, etc. I switched to brown, choose sprouted grain bread and use raw sugar (for now). I hope to drop sugar all together soon. I have also instilled the complex carb/protein combo for every meal. I also began adding flax to my oats. The oats are also a big deal because I went from eating oatmeal once a week every two weeks, to eating oats every day.
After instilling this lifestyle, I’ve lost 2.5 pounds and a few inches in about two weeks. That is a reasonable loss that i’m happy with because the scale and tape has only been shooting upwards until now.
I have been struggling quite a bit lately, especially with treats and temptations. I know I’m allowed a treat now and then but I seem to be treating myself too often.
I decided to begin one of Tosca’s other food plans tomorrow, to help speed up my weight loss. I will begin her Cooler 1 plan. I think i’m doing it for a week but if it all goes well, I’ll add another week. I want to keep everyone posted on how it’s going.
I really want progress and I feel Eating Clean is something I can do for life.

The Eat-Clean Diet Vegetarian Cookbook: BAJA CALIFORNIA EGGS BENEDICT
Tosca must have heard my wishes. Eggs Benedict is one of my top breakfast items. One of my fav diners to grab an Eggs Benny at is Sophie’s and funny enough when Tosca and Robert were in town for Tosca’s YOUR BEST BODY NOW book signing (where I got to meet them both!! YAY!), they actually went to Sophie’s to eat! Neat eh?!
Anyway, the recipe was very easy to make. It was more time consuming than the last few because the poblano peppers need to be “charred and blistered”. My place smelled so amazing from those poblano peppers, not to mention how delicious they were! That was my first time having poblanos and I plan on incorporating them into my diet.
Overall, fantastic recipe, even down to the “Hollandaise” sauce.

Here is a sneak peak at THE EAT-CLEAN DIET Vegetarian Cookbook!

Recipes range from griddlecakes, pie, mousse, scallops to fries! A pleasant surprise was seeing all of the “FROM THE SEA” recipes. I personally love fish and especially shell fish so I appreciate the long list of fish recipes available in this cookbook.

It was a tough decision but I narrowed it down to what I will be making for dinner tonight: HERB-GRILLED SHRIMP SKEWERS WITH AVOCADO LINGUINI

PS: Just in case you missed it, as part of the APRIL NO EXCUSES CHALLENGE I will be providing you with 3 of Tosca Reno’s EAT-CLEAN DIET Vegetarian recipes and each week we will prepare and post about each recipe. As soon as I get the “go” from The EAT-CLEAN DIET team, I will provide you with the first recipe’s ingredients, method, photo, and video. Stay tuned this week! This is going to be fun!

FYI: A few more surprises are coming up this week ; )

95 Days Out: Awesome Session! BIS are PUMPED!
I woke up entirely SORE - everywhere!! Such a good body buzz and I know I had a few good sessions yesterday because of the way I woke up. Not to mention the great sleep I had. Today I went back to the gym to tear my muscles up again.
I just killed 2 solid hours at the gym! Slow and steady baby.
1.5 hours lifting
30 min ABS
I had an interesting conversation at the gym today with a guy I know who’s in the industry. We talk about our what we’ve been up, shows/goals we are preparing for etc. But one interesting thing he said in the conversation was,
“Look at you right now. You must just have great genes…that’s what it is for sure.”
I laughed because you all know where I began and if you’re a new follower, then you will be able to read about it tomorrow in Oxygen Magazine’s ABS special (in digital) and on April 3rd in stores.
The truth is, I had to work very hard to get to where I am today. Of course I was more than flattered that he thought I had “great genes” but that’s not the case. I told him the truth and we had a good laugh and swapped a few personal stories.
So next time you see someone you “admire” or think has your “ideal body” just think that they may have worked very hard to get to that place. We all started somewhere, even the women on the cover and in the pages of Oxygen magazine. * Keep in mind that this “somewhere” isn’t just about your physical appearance or your eating habits, it’s about your mind and pulling everything together. This is a journey that will continue on for life. Never stop pursuing excellence. *
